XINSHE Hotel – Linsen Overview
First Impressions
Walking into XINSHE Hotel – Linsen, you immediately get that feeling of finding a solid, no-nonsense place in the heart of Taipei. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top — honestly, that’s what I liked about it. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and the staff actually seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. You know what really struck me? How quiet it felt despite being right in the middle of everything.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about staying on Linsen North Road — you’re basically in the sweet spot of Zhongshan District. I mean, this three-star hotel sits in what locals consider one of the best areas in the city, and after spending a few days there, I totally get why couples rate the location so highly. You can walk to the Zhongshan MRT station in about five minutes, which connects you to literally everywhere you want to go. Plus, there’s this whole network of late-night eateries and convenience stores right outside — perfect for those midnight snack runs that somehow always happen when you’re traveling.
The Room Experience
The room itself was surprisingly spacious for Taipei standards, which anyone who’s stayed in the city will tell you is no small feat. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained — the kind of place where you don’t worry about touching surfaces or walking barefoot. The bed was actually comfortable (not just “hotel comfortable”), and the bathroom had decent water pressure, which honestly makes or breaks a stay for me. What I really appreciated was how they managed to keep street noise to a minimum despite the bustling location.
Morning Fuel
The buffet breakfast deserves its own mention because it’s way better than you’d expect from a mid-range hotel. They’ve got this mix of Western basics and local Taiwanese options that actually tastes good — not just edible, but genuinely good. I found myself looking forward to the congee and pickled vegetables every morning, and they keep the coffee fresh throughout the breakfast hours. It’s served in a bright, airy space that makes starting your day feel less rushed, even when you’ve got a packed itinerary ahead.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets XINSHE Hotel – Linsen apart is how it nails the fundamentals without any pretense. You’re getting excellent value in a prime location, with staff who know the neighborhood well enough to give you actual recommendations (not just the tourist traps). The whole experience feels authentic to Taipei — bustling but organized, modern but not soulless. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a peaceful base in such a vibrant area, where you can step out into the energy of the city and retreat back to genuine comfort when you need it.

Reviews of XINSHE Hotel – Linsen
A lovely place to stay in Taipei! – Davide from Norway (9/10)
A lovely place to stay in Taipei!
The room was spacious and with very comfortable beds.
The buffet breakfast was fantastic, plenty of good food and it changed every day.
The location was also strategic: very central, close to a convenient store as well as many other places to eat.
I really recommend it!Very Good – Sandeep from Philippines (8/10)
It was amazing i would 100% recommend it!
Well located and clean central Taipei hotel – Jennifer from United States of America (8/10)
Taipei is not that geared towards Western visitors, and this hotel was no exception. The staff did not speak much English though they were very pleasant and as helpful as they could be. The breakfast was really aimed at Asian tastes, with not much on offer for European visitors, and especially for one of us who is gluten free. The room was on the small side with rather large heavy furniture, but it was clean and the bathroom was very roomy.
Wonderful – Patrick from Australia (9/10)
The staff were very helpful. The room was a great size and the location of the hotel made it easy to access the city
Very Good – Dana from United Kingdom (8/10)
Good location for public transportation.
Big comfortable room – David from Australia (9/10)
Very large, well furnished room. Comfortable bed, big TV, nice hot shower. Staff were welcoming, some better than others at communicating. Good location with restaurants nearby and short walk to Metro line. Bus stop outside door.
The breakfast was very poor. It was packed in boxes. The food was very bad and I didn’t want to eat it at all. – Amy from United States of America (8/10)
