Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel, you immediately sense this is what a proper five-star experience should feel like. The lobby has that understated luxury vibe — marble floors that actually gleam, not the fake polished stuff you see elsewhere, and staff who seem genuinely happy to see you rather than just going through the motions. I mean, you’re right in the heart of Taipei here, so you’d expect some level of sophistication, but this place delivers it without being stuffy about it.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re on Zhongxiao East Road, which honestly puts you within walking distance of pretty much everything that matters. The MRT stations are close enough that you won’t break a sweat getting there, and you know what? The couples who stay here consistently rate the location around 8.8, which makes total sense when you’re out exploring. You can actually walk to the shopping districts, the night markets aren’t a complicated journey, and if you need to get to business meetings in the financial district, it’s straightforward. The parking situation is sorted too — they have private spots, which in a city like this is honestly a relief.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had those floor-to-ceiling windows that make you feel like you’re part of the city skyline rather than just looking at it. The bed was properly comfortable — not too soft, not too firm, just that sweet spot where you actually sleep well instead of tossing around all night. What struck me was the attention to details you don’t always notice right away: the lighting actually works for reading, the bathroom has decent water pressure, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.
Breakfast Worth Getting Up For
I’ll be honest — hotel breakfast buffets can be hit or miss, but this one actually gets it right. They’ve got the usual American options if you want something familiar, but the Asian selections are where they really shine. The vegetarian choices aren’t just an afterthought either, which is refreshing. You’re looking at fresh ingredients, dishes that change daily, and honestly, the quality feels more like what you’d get at a good restaurant rather than typical hotel fare. The breakfast area gets busy around 8 AM, so if you prefer a quieter experience, aim for earlier or later.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here isn’t just the luxury touches — though those certainly don’t hurt. It’s that the hotel actually functions well as a base for exploring Taipei. The staff knows the area and can point you toward things that aren’t in every guidebook, the services work smoothly without you having to chase people down, and the whole experience feels polished without being pretentious. When you’re paying for a five-star experience, you want it to feel effortless, and that’s exactly what you get here. Plus, with that 8.4 rating, you’re looking at consistently satisfied guests, which tells you something about how well they maintain their standards.

Reviews of Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel
Great location and everything you'd expect from a five star hotel – Ben from China (9/10)
This is a fabulous hotel, particularly as evidenced by the way they handled the earthquake. It was totally calm, and because the hotel is so sturdy, we all felt completely safe and at ease. The other thing I loved about this hotel was the onsen located up on the top floor. It was totally luxurious and relaxing.
