Members Hotel at Taipei 101 Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Members Hotel at Taipei 101, you immediately notice how the place feels more like a boutique business hotel than your typical three-star property. The lobby sits on the fifth floor of a modern building, which honestly threw me off at first — but once you’re up there, the sleek design and polished surfaces make it clear this isn’t just another budget option. The staff greets you with that particular Taiwanese warmth that feels genuine, not scripted, and check-in moves surprisingly quickly even during busy periods.
Location Perfection
Here’s the thing about this three-star hotel — the location is absolutely unbeatable. You’re literally in the shadow of Taipei 101, which means you can walk to the tower, the surrounding shopping district, and some of the city’s best restaurants without breaking a sweat. The Xinyi District buzzes with energy, especially at night when the neon lights reflect off the glass buildings. I mean, couples consistently rate this spot a 9.1 for good reason — you can stroll to romantic dinner spots, catch the light show at the tower, and still make it back to your room in minutes.
The Rooms
The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed, which is pretty much what you’d expect in this part of Taipei where real estate comes at a premium. What impressed me was the attention to detail — good blackout curtains (essential when you’re surrounded by all those bright city lights), decent Wi-Fi that actually works, and bathrooms that feel clean and modern. The beds are comfortable enough, though if you’re used to American king-size mattresses, you might find them a bit snug. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but honestly, even the less spectacular ones still give you that urban Taipei vibe.
Practical Perks
What really works about Members Hotel at Taipei 101 is how it handles the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. The air conditioning keeps up with Taipei’s humidity — no small feat during summer months. There’s a decent breakfast spread that covers both Western and local options, though don’t expect anything too elaborate. The real win is having multiple convenience stores within a two-minute walk, plus easy access to the MRT system when you want to explore other parts of the city. The elevators can get a bit crowded during peak times, but that’s pretty standard for this type of building in Xinyi.
Why Guests Love It
You know what makes this place work? It’s that sweet spot where location trumps everything else, and the hotel delivers just enough comfort and service to make the stay pleasant. Business travelers appreciate being so close to the financial district, while tourists love having Taipei 101 and the surrounding attractions right outside their door. The staff genuinely tries to help with directions and recommendations, and they usually know enough English to handle most requests smoothly. For a three-star property in one of Taipei’s most desirable neighborhoods, it punches well above its weight class without trying too hard to be something it’s not.
Taipei’s hotels wrap guests in hinoki wood spas, pillow menus scented with oolong, and concierge-led tea ceremonies.

I would definitely stay there again. – Chris from Australia (9/10)
Don't be fooled by exterior and the entrance lobby downstairs. Inside the rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable, the shower hot and powerful and the AC works. There was also a fridge and kettle. And downstairs there was a 7-11 and a full supermarket. And there are tons of food places nearby as well as easy walking access to buses and trains. And the conference centre was also close.
Basically it is definitely good value for money, and we will no doubt to use again. – Rebecca from United Kingdom (8/10)
