Hotel East Taipei Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel East Taipei, you immediately get the sense that this is a place that knows its strengths. It’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in Taipei, but honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. The lobby has this understated elegance — clean lines, warm lighting, and staff who actually seem happy to see you. I mean, you can tell within minutes that this three-star property punches well above its weight class.
The Songshan District Advantage
Here’s what I love about the location on Nanjing East Road — you’re in Songshan District, which puts you right in the heart of things without the chaos of the main tourist zones. The Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is practically next door, and you can walk to some of Taipei’s best night markets in about fifteen minutes. What really surprised me though was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. You know what couples especially appreciate? The area feels safe for evening strolls, and there are plenty of cozy spots nearby for dinner dates.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was larger than I expected — actually spacious by Taipei standards. The bed was comfortable (firm, the way I like it), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that makes you want to stay in longer than you should. Storage space was surprisingly generous, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which is crucial during Taipei’s humid summers. The windows offered a decent view of the neighborhood, nothing spectacular, but you get a real sense of local life happening below.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast spread here is where Hotel East Taipei really shows its understanding of its guests. You get both Continental and Asian options — proper congee alongside decent coffee, fresh fruit next to pastries. It’s not elaborate, but everything tastes fresh and there’s enough variety to keep you happy for several days. And here’s something that’ll save you money and hassle — they offer free parking, which is honestly a godsend in this part of Taipei where street parking is basically impossible.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a hotel that attracts repeat guests, and this place definitely has that loyal following. I think it comes down to consistency — they do the fundamentals really well without any unnecessary frills. The staff remembers your preferences, the housekeeping is thorough, and the whole operation just runs smoothly. For the price point, you’re getting excellent value in a neighborhood that gives you authentic Taipei experiences alongside easy access to the major sights. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.

Reviews of Hotel East Taipei
great choice will stay again – Shya-ling from United States of America (9/10)
better than expected, great location for getting around in Taipei.
Overall, a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it for travelers looking for comfort and – Meng from Singapore (9/10)
The huge bed was incredibly comfortable, and I especially appreciated the electronic washlet toilet seat – a nice touch for added convenience. Both the room and bathroom were spotless, which made the stay even more pleasant.
Although the hotel is small, with less than 50 rooms, I understand the breakfast selection can’t compare to larger hotels, but it was still sufficient for a quick start to the day. The hotel's location is ideal, making it easy to explore the surrounding areas.

Great room size with modern and clean facilities in general. Staff is helpful whenever we had questions and requests. Location is very good with close proximity to MRT station on the green line and good food options around the hotel.
We had a great stay and will definitely recommend to others but not the single room. – Foong from Singapore (8/10)
We had 3 rooms for 5 of us.
1. The 2 upgrades from twin to triple rooms were fantastic and wonderful for us. The rooms were clean and big enough to
accommodate our many luggages.
2. The hotel location is near to metro and bus stops.
3. There are 711, family marts and Watsons nearby for night suppers and purchases. The popular Chia Te Bakery is opposite
the hotel.
4. The staff are friendly and helpful.Very Good – Dave from Netherlands (8/10)

Good value for money. Hotel is well-maintained, and the room we stayed in was spacious enough for 2 plus it had a bath-tub. Location is very accessible – near restaurants, train station and bus stop was just in front. There's also a nearby 7-11 and watson's.
