Champion Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Champion Hotel, you’ll notice it’s not trying to be something it isn’t — and honestly, that’s refreshing. This three-star property in Banqiao has a straightforward, clean aesthetic that feels more genuine than flashy. The lobby is compact but well-maintained, with staff who actually seem to care about helping you get settled. I mean, you’re not going to find marble columns or dramatic chandeliers here, but there’s something appealing about a place that focuses on doing the basics really well.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s where Champion Hotel really shines — the location on Chongqing Road is actually brilliant for exploring this part of New Taipei City. Banqiao might not be the first district tourists think of, but it’s incredibly well-connected to central Taipei, and you’ll find yourself appreciating the more local feel of the area. Couples especially seem to love it here (they’ve rated the location 8.5), probably because you get that authentic Taiwan experience without the tourist crowds. The MRT connections are solid, so getting into Taipei proper is straightforward, but you’ve also got plenty of local restaurants and shops right at your doorstep.
The Room Experience
The rooms at Champion Hotel are what I’d call efficiently designed — they make smart use of space without feeling cramped. Everything you need is there: comfortable bedding, decent air conditioning (crucial in Taiwan’s humidity), and bathrooms that are clean and functional. The decor is simple but pleasant, with neutral tones that won’t offend anyone. You know what I appreciated most? The attention to small details like good lighting for reading and enough outlets for your devices — things that matter when you’re actually living in the space for a few days.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast buffet here leans heavily Asian, which is exactly what you want when you’re in Taiwan. They’ve got congee, various pickled vegetables, and local-style dishes that give you a proper taste of Taiwanese breakfast culture. It’s not an enormous spread, but everything I tried was fresh and well-prepared. The buffet setup is efficient too — no long waits or crowded serving areas. If you’re hoping for extensive Western options, you might be disappointed, but honestly, why would you want that when you’re in Taiwan?
Why Guests Love It
What really sets Champion Hotel apart is how it delivers on its promises without any pretense. Recent guests have consistently rated the location highly (8.6), and after staying there, I can see why. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing real Taiwan while still having easy access to the main tourist areas. The staff genuinely tries to be helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the price point makes sense for what you’re getting. It offers a solid base for exploring Taipei — and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Best hotels in Taipei blend skyline pools, teppanyaki chef counters, and temple-view lounges.

Reviews of Champion Hotel
I had a great experience here and definitely will be back in the near future! – Willy from United States of America (8/10)
Staffers were exceptionally friendly, helpful and polite. Particularly, the one that took my details were the best, offer to keep my luggage while I shop since I was early with check in, arrived in Taipei, Taiwan at 5.30 am.
Hotel is located in a centralized area convenient with public transportation and eateries, STARBUCK, McDonalds.
I don’t have any bad experience here at all. Many Thanks to all the staffers at the front desk. They made me special and welcome.
I noticed quite a few annoyed reviews regarding the smoke through the walls, yes, it's frequent but how much can the Hotel control should an irresponsible guest or few chose to smoke in their room, unlike the restriction here in the USA, where the penalty is stiff.Very Good – Letshare from Hong Kong (8/10)
convenient location for food, supermarket, bus and train; staff are willing to help
Very Good – Armie from Philippines (8/10)
The hotel is 10 minutes away from Fuzhong Station (Bannan Line). I could not find it at first in Google Maps since the location is in Chinese characters. Then I learned to search "Champion Hotel Banqiao" and it was easy from then on. The room was spacious and clean. Water pressure is really good and the heater works well. They provided toiletries, towels, and water. Area is quiet and well lit. Many restaurants and stores surrounding the hotel. Friendly staff. They allow guests to leave luggage before check in and after check out.
Highly recommended if you want a spacious room and a quiet yet convenient neighborhood.Very Good – Jonathan from Israel (8/10)

Clean room and bathroom, nice personelle, space downstairs to hang out if needing to wait indoors out of the hot summer sun. Big room for a stay with just me and my 8 year old son. I had enough space to do yoga while he was sleeping ! slippers, toothbrushes, combs, razors, etc and other things offered if you didn't bring your own. Park with playground and restaurants not too far away. I only stayed one night but I am very happy with the experience.
