Cavemen Hostel Taipei Station Youth Branch Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Cavemen Hostel Taipei Station Youth Branch on the seventh floor of a building on Guanqian Road, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical backpacker crash pad. The name might suggest something primitive, but honestly, it’s quite the opposite — there’s a modern, clean aesthetic that actually surprised me. You can tell they’ve put thought into the design, and the staff genuinely seem to care about making sure you’re settled in properly. It’s one of those places where you realize pretty quickly why people keep coming back.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about this three-star hostel’s location — you’re literally minutes from Taipei Main Station, which means the entire city opens up to you without any hassle. The Zhongzheng District placement is honestly perfect for first-time visitors because you can walk to the Presidential Office Building, grab amazing street food at nearby night markets, and catch trains to anywhere in Taiwan. I mean, having that excellent location score of 8.5 makes complete sense when you’re staying here. The neighborhood has this great mix of local life and tourist-friendly spots, so you get the real Taipei experience without feeling lost.

The Hostel Experience

What sets Cavemen Hostel apart from other budget accommodations is how they’ve managed to create spaces that don’t feel cramped or chaotic. The rooms are thoughtfully designed — you know, actual privacy curtains that work, decent lighting for reading, and storage that makes sense. The common areas encourage interaction without forcing it, which I really appreciate. There’s reliable WiFi throughout (crucial for staying connected), and the bathrooms are kept surprisingly clean considering the constant turnover of guests.

Why Couples Keep Choosing This Place

It’s interesting that couples rate this hostel so highly, and after staying here, I totally get it. While it’s definitely a youth hostel, there’s something about the atmosphere that works well for travelers who want to meet people but also have their own space. The location means you can easily slip away for romantic walks along the nearby historic streets or grab dinner at one of the excellent local restaurants. Plus, the fact that there are more repeat guests here than at most other properties tells you something — people genuinely enjoy their experience enough to come back.

Why Guests Love It

The real magic of this place is in the details that matter when you’re actually living there, even for just a few days. Staff members remember your name, the location saves you countless hours of commuting, and there’s this comfortable vibe that makes it easy to strike up conversations with fellow travelers. You’re not just getting a bed — you’re getting access to a community of people exploring Taiwan, often with great tips about hidden gems around the city. For the price point and the prime location near Taipei Station, it’s honestly hard to find better value in the city.
