The Blue by Just Inn Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Blue by Just Inn, you immediately get that boutique hotel vibe without the pretentious attitude. It’s a three-star property that honestly punches above its weight — the lobby has this clean, modern aesthetic with pops of blue (obviously) that feel fresh rather than gimmicky. The staff greeted me in both Mandarin and English, which I appreciated, and there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole operation.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Guanqian Road in Taipei — you’re basically in the heart of everything that matters. I mean, Zhongzheng District is where locals actually go, not just tourists. You’ve got the Presidential Office Building a short walk away, and honestly, some of the best street food vendors are right around the corner. What I loved most was being able to walk to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall in about ten minutes, but also having legitimate local eateries within a two-block radius. The MTA stations are super accessible too, which makes getting around the city ridiculously easy.
The Room Experience
My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — you know how some smaller hotels make you feel cramped? This wasn’t that. The bed was actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom had decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in this price range. The air conditioning worked well, which is crucial if you’re visiting during Taipei’s humid summer months. There’s a small work desk if you need to catch up on emails, and the WiFi was reliable throughout my stay.
Daily Life & Amenities
The breakfast situation is pretty solid for a three-star place — they do a mix of Western and Taiwanese options that actually taste good rather than just filling space on a buffet. I particularly liked their congee, and the coffee was better than I expected. The front desk staff were genuinely helpful with restaurant recommendations, and they seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to suggest places that weren’t just tourist traps. There’s no fancy spa or anything like that, but honestly, you’re not paying for those extras anyway.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this hotel works because it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The location score of 9.5 makes total sense when you’re staying here — you can walk to major attractions, but you’re also in a real neighborhood where actual Taipei residents live and work. Couples especially seem to appreciate the balance of being centrally located but not in a touristy bubble. For the price point, you’re getting clean, comfortable accommodations in one of the best parts of the city, with staff who actually care about your experience. It’s the kind of place I’d book again without hesitation.

Reviews of The Blue by Just Inn
A calm oasis in the city – Christopher from United Kingdom (9/10)
The staff were great, really helpful. The room was well laid out, minimalist, but with everything you'd need and the bed was very comfortable. I liked having a view over the busy main street, and likes it more because you couldn't hear any of it! The Aircon worked really well and there were air purifiers in the corridor which were appreciated. Also the location is great, so close to many things and also to the metro. It's also really easy to find because it's the only blue building!
Good – Lill from Sweden (7/10)
The hotel is situated very close to the main station, very convenient.
Wonderful – Yen-lyng from Singapore (9/10)
Was close to Taipei Main Station. Still have to walk through the station a bit to reach the street but you can walk through the K Underground Mall. Also a pleasant walk to the NTU Hospital station. Also well connected to the bus system. Friendly and helpful staff no matter what time of the day we met them. Room was small but cozy and had everything we needed, but we also only had 2 small bags with us. Anything more you might have an issue. Everything in the 'minibar' like drinks (non-alchololic) and cookies were free, which is quite rare. Comfortable beds. Bright rooms overlooking the busy street but without being too noisy.
Wonderful – Thi from Vietnam (9/10)
The design is conceptual but still comfortable. The in-room sockets are top. Room is spacious enough and it is a beautiful blue.
Wonderful – Grace from Australia (9/10)
It’s close to the main train station. And the interior is cool well designed. Very modern. And it has a huge tv.

The room is clean and very new. The shower is very high tech, toilet has bidet. They also provide daily cleaning. The staffs are also helpful. The atmosphere is very calm and modern with gallery-art vibe.

The location was superb! 5 mins to Taipei Main Station. It was also just a 15 minute walk to Ximending and 20 minute walk to Chang Kai Shek Memorial. It was also very convenient since there are many restaurants, convenient stores and even Starbucks in the area. Love the bathroom facilities too!
