Taipei Fullerton Hotel – South Overview
First Impressions
The Taipei Fullerton Hotel – South sits right in the heart of Daan District, and honestly, you couldn’t ask for a better spot in Taipei. This four-star property has that understated elegance thing down perfectly — it’s polished without being stuffy, you know? The lobby feels welcoming rather than intimidating, which I actually appreciate after a long flight. What really caught my attention was how many guests seemed to be returning visitors, and now I get why.
The Daan District Advantage
Look, I’ve stayed in different parts of Taipei, but this location is something special. You’re literally surrounded by some of the city’s best local eateries and night markets — the kind of places where you’ll actually want to eat, not just tourist traps. The MRT connections are ridiculously good from here, so getting around the city is effortless. I mean, couples rate this spot 9.3 out of 10, and after walking around the neighborhood, I totally understand the hype. There’s this perfect mix of local life and accessibility that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Taipei.
Room Experience
My room was exactly what I needed after exploring the city all day — clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet considering how central everything is. The space feels thoughtfully designed rather than just functional, with enough storage and work space if you need it. The bed was genuinely comfortable (sometimes you never know with hotels), and the bathroom had that satisfying hot water pressure that makes all the difference. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything just works the way it should.
Breakfast Worth Waking Up For
Here’s where the hotel really shines — the breakfast spread is actually impressive. They’ve got this buffet setup with Continental, Asian, and American options, so whether you want congee and dim sum or eggs and toast, you’re covered. I particularly loved the local Taiwanese breakfast items — it’s like getting a little food tour without leaving the hotel. The restaurant area gets busy around 8 AM, so if you prefer a quieter meal, aim for earlier or later.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me most about Taipei Fullerton Hotel – South is how it nails the fundamentals while giving you that prime location. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience — not in an over-the-top way, just professional and helpful when you need them. The fact that so many people come back tells you everything, really. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually want: comfort, great location, solid amenities, and fair value. Plus, having easy access to both business districts and cultural sites means you’re never more than a short ride from wherever you need to be in the city.
Taipei’s apartments welcome families with playrooms, bilingual childcare, and easy MRT rides to the zoo.

Room was good, and clean but not very big.
Breakfast was good, not a lot of choices but enough, and they had fried eggs on request.
There's coffee, tea, water station and cookies at the lobby.
Location was also good, near Exit 4 of metro station.Overall it was good, considering the price paid, the service and convenient location. – Winnie from Hong Kong (8/10)
The staff are very polite and attend to guests' request very quickly. Breakfast is included in the room rate. Quality and quantity is good, a lot of green vegetables provided, rarely found in other hotel's breakfast. Bottle water is provided every day. Complementary coffee and tea and cookies are provided at the lobby. The location is very convenient.
Excellent Location, but make sure you get good AC – Wendy from United States of America (8/10)
Excellent location, but the property is getting more dated. Also, the room we were given had issues with the air conditioning. First night, the room was hot, wasn't even able to cool down to 22C. Thankful for night staff who was able to reassign us to another room – same room just lower floor, but A/C was working. Still not at 100% but good enough.
My stay was mostly comforrable and pleasant – Komal from Hong Kong (8/10)

I like the location as it was easy to get there and the price was reasonable – Boon from Malaysia (8/10)
Location was good and just a few minutes walk away from exit 4 train station. Breakfast was good with varieties except that it starts at 7am. It will be good if it can starts earlier. Room was ok for two of us and many restaurants were just near the hotel.
