The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was on the 8th floor, and while it wasn’t huge, everything felt thoughtfully designed. The bed was genuinely comfortable (sometimes you can’t tell from photos), and they’ve got these blackout curtains that actually work — crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag. What surprised me was the bathroom setup; it’s compact but well-planned, with a rainfall shower that has decent water pressure. The air conditioning runs quietly, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to sleep in a busy part of the city.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast buffet happens on the second floor, and honestly, it’s better than I expected for a mid-range hotel. They’ve got the usual Western options, but the local dishes are where they really shine — the congee station alone makes it worth getting up early. The restaurant staff seems to actually care about keeping things fresh and well-stocked, even during the busy morning rush. I particularly liked that they had proper Taiwanese breakfast items alongside the international stuff, so you’re not stuck with just toast and cereal.

There’s something to be said for a hotel that just gets the basics right without any fuss. The staff speaks decent English and actually seems helpful rather than just polite, the location puts you in the heart of everything without the chaos of being right in Ximending, and the whole place feels clean and well-maintained. Couples seem to really appreciate the area — I can see why, since you’ve got great restaurants within walking distance and easy access to both cultural sites and shopping. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but for exploring Taipei, it hits that sweet spot of comfort, location, and value.

  A very nice hotel in a central area of the city that is a very good value. There are some tourist areas nearby but it is not busy so quiet at night. Some reviews complained about some rooms not having a window but it did not bother me, there are curtains up so it doesn’t feel like it is windowless. The space in the room was fine for one and probably not too bad if there is a second person. The breakfast was plentiful, Asian oriented (which is expected) but still other options available. I liked how it was fairly central so most things are convenient to get to on the metro. The staff were friendly and there was no issues dealing with them in English. I saw a sign for a gym but I didn’t try to see it.

  Location is excellent, close to food, coffee, convenience stores and a night market. Metro station is a 10 minute walk away, which is also nice. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and things were generally well-maintained. A/C worked well and free water bottles is always great.
