Rich Garden Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Rich Garden Hotel on Jhonghua Road, you immediately get the sense that this place knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s not trying to be flashy or pretentious — just a solid three-star hotel that’s figured out how to make guests genuinely happy. The lobby has this clean, welcoming feel that honestly made me relax the moment I stepped inside. You know what struck me most? The staff actually seemed to enjoy working there, which always tells you something about a place.

Location Magic

Here’s the thing about staying in Wanhua District — you’re right in the heart of old Taipei, but most tourists completely overlook this area. I mean, couples are rating the location 9.4 out of 10 for good reason. You can walk to Longshan Temple in about ten minutes, and the night markets are practically on your doorstep. What really sold me was how easy it is to hop on the MRT from here — you’re connected to the entire city without dealing with the chaos of staying right in the main tourist zones.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star property — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed without any unnecessary frills. The bed was actually really comfortable (sometimes you never know with mid-range hotels), and the bathroom was spotless with decent water pressure. I appreciated the little touches like proper blackout curtains and enough outlets near the bed for charging devices. It’s not going to win any design awards, but honestly, after a long day exploring the city, it felt like exactly the right place to unwind.

Neighborhood Vibes

What I love about this location is how authentic it feels — you’re staying where actual Taipei residents live and work, not in some sanitized tourist bubble. The street food around here is incredible (and dirt cheap), and there’s this great mix of traditional shops and modern conveniences within walking distance. In the evening, the whole area comes alive with locals heading to dinner or meeting friends. You’ll see families out with kids, elderly folks playing chess in small parks — it’s the real Taipei, you know?

Why Guests Love It

After staying here, I totally understand why this hotel consistently gets such high ratings. It’s that rare combination of great location, fair pricing, and staff who actually care about your experience. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or fancy amenities you’ll never use — you’re paying for a comfortable base in one of the best neighborhoods in the city. For travelers who want to experience authentic Taipei without breaking the bank, this place just makes sense. The fact that it’s located in the best-rated area of the city with a 9.2 location score isn’t just marketing speak — you really do feel like you’re perfectly positioned to explore everything the city has to offer.

Taipei hotels keep foodies close to night markets, MRT hubs, and bubble tea ateliers.

The room is spacious. We booked a triple room and there is enough space for 3 “opened” luggages and we still have room to walk around. Breakfast is a nice addition! It offers simple breakfast menu, but we appreciate that we don’t leave the hotel hungry. 🙂 The staff are also helpful! Location is superb! Near ximending night market and there’s a Carrefour grocery nearby too!
