It’s one of those spots where you can grab amazing street food just around the corner, but you’re not fighting crowds of other travelers to do it.

The RF Hotel – Sanchong keeps things straightforward without trying to be something it’s not. The rooms are clean and well-maintained — nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which honestly matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with jet lag. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, especially considering you’re still technically in the Taipei metropolitan area. The staff seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and there’s a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind after long days of exploring the city.

Getting Around

One thing that really works in this hotel’s favor is how connected you are to the rest of Taipei without being in the thick of it. The Sanchong area has good bus routes, and once you figure out the MRT system (which doesn’t take long), you can be in Ximending or near Taipei 101 pretty quickly. I mean, you’re not walking to major attractions, but the trade-off is that you’re paying reasonable rates for a decent place to sleep, and you get to see parts of Taipei that most tourists completely miss.

• Everything was nice beyond expectation! – Phuong from Vietnam (8/10)

  San Chong area was very close to the center – only 1 RMT or bus ride to the Main Station, from which you can get anywhere. I loved the staff's friendliness and helpfulness; the bed was so comfortable and the entire facility clean and well-maintained. The cute theme (old classroom) is just like a cherry on top, especially for someone who's a bit nostalgic and enjoys seeing past settings like me.

  The staff were friendly and helpful. Our flight was cancelled so we were one day late. Regardless of the payment issue I wasn't able to resolve it right away, our room was still kept for us. The location was conveniently close to bus stops, MRT station, night market and many shops. The interior design was adorable. The shower was very strong. There's a laundry room on site but I didn't have time to use it, even though it was the main reason I looked at this hotel.

  Very accessible to the nearest MRT (Taipei Bridge station), had a lot of stores, restaurants, and even a night market nearby. Staff were very friendly and answered questions we had.
