NiHao Café Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into NiHao Café Hotel feels like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away in one of Taipei’s most vibrant neighborhoods. This three-star boutique property sits quietly on a narrow alley off Xinyi Road, and honestly, I almost walked past it the first time — the entrance is that understated. But once you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve found something special, not flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely welcoming in a way that makes you want to settle in.
The Daan District Advantage
You know what really sold me on this place? The location is absolutely unbeatable, especially if you’re traveling as a couple — and apparently I’m not alone in thinking this, since couples consistently rate it 9.4 out of 10. You’re literally in the heart of Daan District, which means you can walk to some of the city’s best night markets, trendy cafes, and local eateries without dealing with the tourist crowds. The MRT station is close enough that getting around the city is effortless, but you’re also surrounded by tree-lined streets that actually feel peaceful. It’s that perfect balance between accessibility and neighborhood charm that’s surprisingly hard to find in Taipei.
Comfortable Accommodations
The rooms here aren’t huge — let’s be realistic about Taipei real estate — but they’re thoughtfully designed and surprisingly comfortable. Each room has this clean, minimalist aesthetic that feels very Taiwan modern, with enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The beds are actually really good (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are compact but well-appointed. What I appreciated most was how quiet everything stays despite being in such a central location — the alley setting really does buffer you from street noise.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is where the café part of the name really shines through. They offer this nice mix of continental options alongside Asian dishes and vegetarian choices, so whether you want congee and pickled vegetables or toast and coffee, you’re covered. The “breakfast to go” option is brilliant if you’re planning early morning adventures — they’ll pack everything up so you can grab it and head out to catch sunrise at Elephant Mountain or beat the crowds somewhere. I mean, it’s not a five-course affair, but it’s fresh, tasty, and gets the job done without feeling rushed.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to NiHao Café Hotel isn’t any single standout feature — it’s how everything just works together seamlessly. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay smooth, the neighborhood gives you that authentic Taipei experience without the tourist markup, and the whole place has this relaxed vibe that makes it easy to unwind after long days of exploring. Plus, with an 8.4 rating from actual guests, you know you’re not taking a gamble on somewhere untested. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Taipei around Yonghe for breakfast soy milk stalls, indie bookstores, and quiet temples.

Good – Marie from Taiwan (7/10)
Bed was comfortable. The café is the best thing about the hotel – very pleasant setting & brunch was good. Staff was very helpful. They also very nicely waived my brunch cost when I unexpectedly had to go back home a day early even though my room was paid for. Nice to have complimentary snacks & tea/coffee available in the corridor.
Convenient location.Good – 謦連 from Taiwan (7/10)
The location is absolutely great. Besides, the facility is clean and has mini bar free at the corner. Shampoo, conditioner and soap are all from local known brands with slippers and bottle of water available. And staff was very friendly, she helps me change to bigger room upon asking.
