Honestly, the location is probably the hotel’s biggest selling point — and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re right in the heart of Ximen, which is basically Taipei’s answer to Times Square but way more manageable and fun. The famous Ximen Red House is literally a two-minute walk, and you’re surrounded by night markets, street food vendors, and some of the city’s best shopping. I loved being able to grab xiaolongbao from a nearby stall at 11 PM, then duck into one of the trendy bars that line the streets. The MRT station is so close you’ll wonder why you even bothered looking up directions.

The Room Experience

The rooms are compact — this is Taipei, after all — but they’re smartly designed to maximize every inch of space. My room had floor-to-ceiling windows that actually opened (a rarity in many hotels), and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for a property in this price range. The bathroom is modern with a rainfall shower that has decent water pressure, though you’ll want to keep your toiletries organized since counter space is limited. What I appreciated most was the blackout curtains that actually work, which is crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag and the neon-bright Ximen district outside.

Practical Perks

The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable throughout the building — I never had issues video calling home or uploading photos. There’s a small business center on one of the floors if you need to print boarding passes, and the elevators are surprisingly quick considering how busy this place gets. The front desk staff speak excellent English and were genuinely helpful with restaurant recommendations, not just the touristy spots but places where locals actually eat. They also store luggage without any fuss, which came in handy on my checkout day when I wanted to explore more before heading to the airport.

  There really isn't breakfast there but they offer a lovely all day coffee/ tea desk with instant soups, and snacks like chips and biscuits. During breakfast, they would have butter/jam and some buns. It is a very convenient to pop down for a quick snack. The location is fantastic, close to central malls, eateries and not too far from MTR. Staff is wonderful and helpful. The rooms are quite tiny for family of 3 but it is clean. Windows are tiny and does not look out to anything. For a boutique quick trip, it is ideal and value for money. The beds and cleanliness is better than some expensive hotels. Good western (english language) channels.
