Hotel Relax III Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Hotel Relax III, you immediately get the sense that this is one of those places that just gets it right without trying too hard. It’s a three-star property, but honestly, the attention to detail feels more thoughtful than some fancier places I’ve stayed. The lobby has this clean, understated vibe — nothing flashy, but everything feels intentional and well-maintained. From the moment you arrive, you notice the care taken in every corner of the property.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about Huaining Street in Taipei — you’re basically in the sweet spot of Zhongzheng District, and I mean that literally. You can walk to the Presidential Office Building in about five minutes, and the historic Red House theater district is just a short stroll away. What I really love is how you’re close enough to the action but tucked away on a quieter street, so you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise. The MRT stations are super accessible too, which honestly makes exploring the rest of the city so much easier. This location truly offers the best of both worlds for travelers.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but smartly designed — you know how some places feel cramped, but this actually felt cozy in a good way. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and they’ve got these blackout curtains that actually work (trust me, this matters when you’re dealing with jet lag). The bathroom was spotless, and while it’s not huge, everything you need is there. Air conditioning works well too, which is crucial during Taipei’s humid summers. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered for guest comfort.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here start with a simple but solid breakfast spread — nothing elaborate, but the coffee is decent and there are both Western and local options. What I appreciated was the flexibility; you can grab something quick if you’re rushing out to catch early morning attractions, or sit and plan your day if you’re taking it slow. The staff is genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations, and their English is pretty good, which definitely helps when you’re trying to figure out the best way to get somewhere. The restaurant area maintains a welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the kind of place that’s going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy spaces. But what it does offer is solid value in an excellent location with staff who actually care about your experience. Couples especially seem to love it here — and I can see why, since the neighborhood has this romantic, walkable quality, especially in the evenings when the street lights come on. You’re paying for reliability and location rather than bells and whistles, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city like Taipei. This hotel delivers on its promise of comfort and convenience.

  • will recommend this hotel. – Kris from United States of America (9/10)

Joseph and Yumi were professional but still friendly and polite, thanks for those tips on food and places to visit, to get there.
Bathroom is clean, and water pressure is very good, gave us a refreshing shower in a hot days (most hotels nowadays are so green, that they restrict water pressure until it felt like showering under a trickling water.
They also arranged a taxi with driver who spoke ENglish for us to visit Jiufen and Shifen, the driver/ taxi was an excellent trip, safe drive, clean comfortable car.
Also enjoy to have a washing and drying machine on the basement.
The free beer we got in house was also very good, I am not one who like drinking beer, but was very light and refreshing in a hot day after a long day out and about.

  • Hassle free. Easy to communicate. Very helpful staffs. – Wing from Singapore (8/10)

  • Worth the value! – Paul from Singapore (7/10)

I like the location of the hotel, the friendly staff and the daily free coffee. 😉

  • Great stay for 3 star hotel. – Iris from Canada (9/10)

Room was decently sized and very clean. All necessary amenities were there (hair dryer, water, snacks, shampoo, fridge, etc). Bed was super wide, though not long, so you might need to check with them for a longer bed or look elsewhere if you’re over 6’2” (not a problem for 6’0”). Great location and easy to find, great food nearby. I’ve stayed at Hotel Relax 1 previously and this location was just a slightly better vibe.

  • Overall, we had a wonderful accommodation. We encountered no problem during our stay. – Camille from Philippines (9/10)

The hotel was near the Taipei Main Station. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. There was free water and snacks. The shower was great. Our overall stay at the hotel was comfortable and relaxing.
