Hotel HD Palace Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel HD Palace, you immediately notice how they’ve managed to create something that feels both modern and welcoming without trying too hard. The lobby has this clean, understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” — which honestly feels refreshing in a city where some hotels can be a bit over the top. The staff greeted me in both Mandarin and English, and there’s something about their approach that feels genuinely warm rather than rehearsed. You know what I mean — it’s that subtle difference between good service and service that actually makes you feel at home.
Location & Neighborhood
The location on Anhe Road in Daan District is actually brilliant, and I can see why couples rate this four-star hotel so highly for romantic getaways. You’re right in the heart of one of Taipei’s most livable neighborhoods, where tree-lined streets meet excellent restaurants and cafes. The Daan Forest Park is just a short walk away — perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls — and you’re close enough to the main shopping areas without being stuck in the tourist chaos. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to find authentic local eateries nearby, the kind of places where you’ll see office workers grabbing lunch rather than just tourists.
The Room Experience
My room was spacious by Taipei standards, which honestly surprised me given the city’s reputation for compact accommodations. The design strikes this nice balance between contemporary comfort and subtle Asian touches — nothing too obvious or cliché, just thoughtful details that remind you where you are. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. The soundproofing is solid too, which matters when you’re in a busy district like this.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast spread covers all the bases — you’ve got your Western options alongside congee, dim sum, and local favorites that change daily. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s well-executed and gives you a good start to the day. The fitness center is compact but has everything you need, and there’s a business center that’s actually useful if you need to print boarding passes or catch up on work. What impressed me most was how everything just works smoothly — the WiFi is fast, the elevators are quick, and the little things like housekeeping timing feel well-coordinated.
Why Guests Love It
Hotel HD Palace gets the fundamentals right in a way that makes your stay feel effortless. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Taipei, but it delivers on comfort, location, and service in a package that feels like good value. The Daan District location means you’re living like a local rather than just visiting, and for couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a comfortable base in such a pleasant neighborhood. You’ll find yourself walking to dinner instead of taking taxis, discovering coffee shops you’d never find otherwise, and generally feeling more connected to the city than you would staying in some of the more touristy areas.

Reviews of Hotel HD Palace
It is a great pleasure to stay in this beyond friendly facility – Chao from United States of America (8/10)
Convenient location for me to visit my mom and siblings by foot. A collective of good food choices around the hotel. Safety is not even an issue in the neighborhood. The staff are absolutely committed by making every effort to make us comfortable and relaxed in the facility.

Good location, friendly staff
Sustainability is very good. A few minor problems. – Chris from Germany (8/10)
My trip was in August of 2024 and so some things in previous reviews have changed a bit. This hotel takes sustainability seriously and does a good job of it. The location is good — near Linjiang Night Market, not to far from Taipei 101, and (important since I was going there for a conference) close to the National Taiwan University campus. I chose this place because the last minute deal was too good to pass up and I am glad I stayed there. The hotel is nice. The beds are comfortable and the facilities well maintained.
As of August 2024, the hotel offers two different breakfast offerings. The first offering is a hotel breakfast voucher at a chain called MOS Burger and this is available every day. I would rate this breakfast option as functional but not great, but it is available for a wider timeframe in the mornings so can be worth considering. Most days, however, the hotel also offers a set breakfast. I guess business is not brisk enough to justify a full kitchen staff and buffet but the set breakfast is hearty: 2 slices of ham, some bacon, two fried eggs, and some various fruits and vegetables, some of them with a sesame dressing. They hire one chef for all of this though, and the chef is off some days, so this option may not be available every day.
I have also grown more uncomfortable more generally with what I call hotel overconsumption (the need to change towels and bedsheets every day during a stay strikes me as wasteful) and the hotel does not do this. Instead they offer one change every three days ,but you need to request it at the front desk.Good – Ian from Philippines (7/10)
Location was near where we needed to be. The room was big. Big bath tub.
Good – Christopher from United Kingdom (7/10)
The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, and the hotel was near one of the night markets, and not far from Da'an Forest Park. The room was very big and it was nice to have a bath as well as a shower in the bathroom. Was also good to have a kettle in the room, and there was ample space and ample storage.

Clean and quiet
It served our needs – Poon from United States of America (7/10)
Older hotel, clean and comfortable, not far from what we planned to do. We were at the hotel that morning during the earthquake, staff were comforting after, no hot water after the quake due to water heater damage
Nice room in a convenient location – Geoffrey from Australia (9/10)
The room was clean and spacious
