Goodmore Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Goodmore Hotel, you immediately get the sense that this is a place that knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top — instead, there’s this comfortable confidence about the whole operation. The lobby feels welcoming without being stuffy, and honestly, the staff seem genuinely happy to see you rather than just going through the motions. You know what really struck me? How many guests I overheard mentioning they’d stayed here before. That tells you something right there.
Perfect Daan District Location
The location on Heping East Road is actually brilliant if you want to experience Taipei like someone who lives here rather than just passing through. You’re right in the heart of Daan District, which means you can walk to some of the city’s best local eateries and cafes without dealing with tourist crowds. The MRT connections are solid — I mean, you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without much hassle. What couples seem to love (and I get why they rate it so highly) is that you’re close enough to the action but still in a neighborhood that feels authentic and livable.
The Room Experience
The room itself hits that sweet spot between practical and comfortable. It’s not huge, but everything feels thoughtfully designed — you’ve got proper storage space, decent lighting for actually reading, and a bathroom that works without any of those weird quirks some hotels seem to think are charming. The beds are genuinely comfortable, which honestly matters more than fancy amenities when you’re exploring a city all day. Air conditioning works well too, which you’ll appreciate during Taipei’s humid summers.
Local Neighborhood Charm
What I really appreciate about staying here is how it puts you in touch with everyday Taipei life. There’s this fantastic breakfast spot just around the corner that locals frequent — the kind of place where you point at what looks good and hope for the best. The nearby streets have that perfect mix of traditional shops and modern conveniences, plus you’re walking distance from some excellent night markets that don’t feel completely overrun by tour groups. The three-star rating might seem modest, but sometimes that means you get authentic local flavor instead of generic international hotel vibes.
Why Guests Love It
The repeat guest situation here really says everything you need to know. People come back because the Goodmore Hotel delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. The staff remember returning guests, the location keeps revealing new discoveries, and the value feels honest rather than like you’re paying for amenities you’ll never use. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in and actually experience Taipei rather than just checking tourist boxes. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a reliable home base in such a dynamic neighborhood — you can be spontaneous during the day knowing you’ve got a comfortable retreat waiting for you.
Best hotels in Taipei blend skyline pools, teppanyaki chef counters, and temple-view lounges.

Amazing location. Spotless rooms, great amenities.
You can find everything you want and the area is good for leisure – Chun from Macau (7/10)
There is a lot of nice cafe around that area. The area is also comfortable because it is close to the university. The shower water is stable and hot enough.

Great location. Some staff were great in terms of replying email promptly.
Was a fantastic place to stay. 7-11 nearby, with a carrefour right next to the building. The hotel doesn’t come with any – Matthew from United Kingdom (9/10)
How close it was to the National Taiwan Normal University. The room was very comfortable and was provided with a dehumidifier.
Tiny (but comfortable) well equipped room in a great location. – Jonathan from Taiwan (9/10)
Very small but thoughtful room, well equipped with everything you need. Comfy bed, quiet. Free coffee and snacks in the "business room". Friendly, helpful staff. Good location near DaAn park.
Very Good – Hoang from Australia (8/10)
The room was quite and very clean. There was also free coffee and snacks provided in a shared kitchen.
3D2N in my first 1 pax room – Fionlimjy from Singapore (8/10)
Room: I thought the amenities in the room were pretty great for 1 pax. It was comfortable and cosy. There is a double lock on the door. There is a "pantry" with some packet snacks, tea bags, coffee machine and water refill machine. There is also a recycle bin on each floor. There is no window in the room, which is fine by me. I did not use the TV and housekeeping service during my stay.
Toilet – The toilet had a toilet roll, shower head with shampoo and body soap, a bowl sink, sink counter, gargle cup, 2 power points, a toilet bowl and towel rack.
Location: This was a new area for me as I usually stay near the Taipei Main Station. I liked having to explore a new area and being near a university campus, there is quite a lot in the area. The bus stop is located almost right outside the hotel, and it is in between a post office and small Carrefour.
Service: I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the service was good. I had some small chats with the friendly housekeeper on my floor (G6). What a warm and helpful person, a pity I did not get his name. Elan helped to check me in and out, and was patient, similarly friendly and provided great service! I was exhausted after my journey to the hotel following a red-eye flight and Elan helped to check me in early to a slightly larger room. It truly was a great comfort. I also communicated with Anna and Howard through the Booking.com messages and they were helpful and friendly as well. The front desk staff helped me to receive my prepaid parcel too.Lovely stay! – Melody from Vietnam (9/10)
Nice location as Shida Night Market, Da'an Forest Park, Yongkang neighborhood are within walking distance. There's also a Carrefour supermarket next door. The staffs are helpful, the room is clean with a large window offering a nice city view. Especially, they have a leaflet including famous Taiwanese specialties like pineapple cakes, nougat biscuits, etc. that you can place your order with the FO and get them delivered to you on that day or the day after. Super convenient! Highly recommended!
