Cosmos Hotel Taipei Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Cosmos Hotel Taipei, you immediately sense this is a place that gets the balance right between professional service and genuine warmth. The lobby has that polished four-star feel without being intimidating — honestly, it’s the kind of space where you can settle into one of their comfortable seating areas with a coffee and actually feel at home. The staff here really know their stuff, and I mean that in the best way possible. They’re not just going through the motions; they genuinely seem to care about making your stay work.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re right on Zhongxiao West Road in Zhongzheng District, which puts you in the absolute heart of everything that matters in Taipei. The location score of 9.5 isn’t just marketing fluff; it’s actually earned. You can walk to Taipei Main Station in about ten minutes, which connects you to literally everywhere you’d want to go. The presidential palace is practically next door, and you’re surrounded by some of the city’s best traditional shops and eateries that tourists often miss. Plus, there’s free private parking if you’re brave enough to drive in Taipei (though honestly, with this location, you won’t need to).
The Rooms
The rooms strike that sweet spot between modern comfort and practical design. They’re not huge — this is Taipei, after all — but they’re thoughtfully laid out so you never feel cramped. What impressed me most was the attention to details that actually matter: really good blackout curtains, reliable air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and bathroom fixtures that work properly. The beds are genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. You know what I mean — you’ll actually sleep well here, not just survive the night.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast buffet leans heavily Asian, which is exactly what you want when you’re in Taiwan. Sure, there are some Western options if you need your morning toast fix, but the real stars are the congee, fresh dim sum selections, and local Taiwanese breakfast items that give you a proper taste of where you are. I actually found myself looking forward to breakfast here, which doesn’t always happen at hotels. The dining area gets busy around 8 AM, so if you’re an early riser, you’ll have more space and fresher selections.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not — it’s a solid, well-run four-star property that delivers on the fundamentals while giving you access to the best of Taipei. Couples especially seem to appreciate the location (they rate it 9.4, and I can see why), probably because you can easily walk to romantic spots like the nearby parks and traditional markets without dealing with complicated transit connections. The combination of professional service, smart location, and reasonable rates makes it the kind of place you’d actually book again, which is honestly the best compliment I can give any hotel.
Hotel in Taipei reservations surge before New Year’s countdowns, so revelers secure suites with Taipei 101 views.

The location is excellent. You can take the TRA train from Taoyuan airport to the Taipei main station and you get off at M3 exit and the hotel is right there. It is close to all the transportation so that it makes it easy for you to go everywhere in Taiwan.

First visit to Taiwan 🇹🇼 – Hoh from Singapore (9/10)
A shout out to people of Taiwan, friendly and kindest! They made our first visit a memorable one. There was this lady at an organic shop beside the 7-11, opp the Houshanpi stn. She showed us how to get to a shop that sells fermented tofu, a neighbour asked us to find for her. Then when we reached the Zhongxiao Fuxing mrt, the guard there gave us an accurate instruction that helped us to find the place without problem. Many more instances when we travelled to the old streets and night streets, the people we met left an impression that Taiwan is prosperous with her people.
The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful, especially the housekeeping team👍🏼who checked on us if we need any help daily.
We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
