CityInn Hotel Plus – Ximending Branch Overview

First Impressions

Walking into CityInn Hotel Plus – Ximending Branch, you immediately get that “this place gets it” feeling. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — this three-star hotel knows exactly what travelers want in Taipei, and honestly, they deliver on it better than some pricier places I’ve stayed. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and the staff actually seem happy to see you rather than just going through the motions.

Location Magic

Here’s the thing about Ximending — it’s basically Taipei’s Times Square, but way more manageable and actually fun to walk around. You’re literally in the heart of everything that matters for visitors. I mean, you can grab street food at 11 PM, shop for quirky stuff until late, and still find quiet spots when you need them. The hotel sits on Baoqing Road, which sounds random until you realize you’re a two-minute walk from the main pedestrian area. No need for taxis or figuring out the MRT every time you want to do something — though the Ximen Station is right there when you do want to explore other parts of the city.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but smartly designed — you know how some small spaces feel cramped while others feel cozy? This falls into the cozy category. Everything you need is there without unnecessary clutter, and the bed was actually comfortable (not always a given in this price range). The bathroom might not win any design awards, but it’s clean and functional with decent water pressure. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing — considering you’re in one of Taipei’s busiest districts, the noise level inside was totally manageable.

Neighborhood Perks

Being in Ximending means you’re surrounded by some of the best street food in Taipei, and I’m talking about the real deal here. There’s this beef noodle place about three blocks away that locals actually go to, not just tourists. The shopping is pretty great too — mix of international brands and local stuff you won’t find anywhere else. Plus, if you’re into the night market scene, you can easily walk to several different ones depending on your mood. The area feels safe even late at night, which matters when you’re exploring on foot.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances location with value — you’re paying for a solid, well-run hotel in an unbeatable spot without the premium that usually comes with prime real estate. The staff genuinely seem to care about making your stay work, and they know the neighborhood well enough to give you actual useful recommendations. Couples especially seem to love it here, probably because Ximending has this great mix of romantic dinner spots and fun activities you can do together. It’s the kind of place where you spend less time in your room because there’s so much happening right outside, but when you do come back, everything just works the way it should.

Best hotels in Taipei blend skyline pools, teppanyaki chef counters, and temple-view lounges.

  • Amazing location but bad sound proof – Gracious from Singapore (9/10)

The location is so good. Just outside the exit 3 of Ximen station. The staff here is quite nice and helpful. They also provide washing machines, dryers and detergent for free. This is definitely a thoughtful idea for travellers.

  • Fanatstic stay in Taipei! – Banane7 from South Korea (9/10)

Staff are fantastic. They give you the feeling of being very welcome. You get free coffee, free drinks and free snacks every day. Coffee machine works 24/7. In the basement, there is a lobby where you can hang out, cook, and do your laundry including ironing.
here is a convenience store right next to the hotel with plenty meal kits. If you walk about 5 minutes, there is a store where you can get fresh pressed juice very cheap. And chains like Subway or Starbucks.
Also, you are right next to XIMEN station and the city – fantastic shopping district, similar to Meyong Dong in Seoul. With the Metro, you can get anywhere fast and its only 25 minutes from the airport.

Bathroom is huge, bed is comfy… would def. book again!

  • Very Good – Lim-lian from Singapore (8/10)

Fairly good location, short walk to Yamuliao market, next street on the left of the hotel has plenty of food stalls.
Bus stop right outside the hotel.
Hospital just next to the hotel, just in case you need it…

  • Excellent located budged hotel for sight-seeing – Liang-yi from Taiwan (8/10)

    1. Excellent location
    2. Very friendly staff

  • Value for money, intimate service, excellent location stay. THank you! – Kelly from Singapore (8/10)

the location is near enough to Ximending but with a bit of distance of 'peace'. the room was clean and sheets and amenities nicely provided. i also like the additional touch of a handwritten note on some of the night markets recommendations by the hotel. They also provide preorder delivery for basic souvenirs like pineapple pastry and tai yang bing. On the day of checkout i noticed there's also the preorder of the famous Fu Hang soymilk too! Surely to try when i next check in with them.

  • Great Taipei Find – Maricar from Philippines (9/10)

The location is great, right outside exit 3 of Ximen station. There are also bakeries and convenience stores near the hotel. There is a 24/7 drink station at the basement. The water pressure of the shower is strong.

  • Exceptional – Yun from Singapore (9/10)

The location was great. Staff were very helpful.

  • Convenient location – Suzzie from Singapore (9/10)

Hotel is strategically location between exit 3 and 4 of the station, and a short distance walk to Ximending! The staffs were friendly and always eager to help~ The toilet is a surprisingly big, compared to the sleeping area.. but considering we have a bathtub in it, I guess it makes sense. The room are small but sufficient. The basement area to rest, do laundry and have some tea is amazing!
