When I first walked into Chill Roof Hotel, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star property — but this place completely changed my perspective. Located on the 11th floor of a building on Nanjing East Road, you take an elevator up to what feels like a completely different world. The lobby has this modern, minimalist vibe that’s actually pretty sophisticated, and the staff greeted me with genuine warmth that set the tone for my entire stay.

You know what really impressed me about this place? The location is absolutely unbeatable. I mean, you’re right in Zhongshan District, which puts you within walking distance of some of Taipei’s best shopping and dining. The Nanjing Fuxing MRT station is literally a few minutes away, and I found myself exploring different parts of the city with ease. What I loved most was being able to grab late-night snacks from the convenience stores downstairs or wander over to the nearby department stores when I needed anything. It’s one of those spots where you feel like you’re in the heart of everything without the chaos.

The Room Experience

I’ll be honest — the room wasn’t huge, but it was designed so thoughtfully that space never felt like an issue. The bed was incredibly comfortable (seriously, I slept better here than I have in some much pricier hotels), and the whole space had this clean, contemporary feel. The bathroom was compact but well-appointed, and I appreciated the attention to detail in things like the lighting and storage solutions. The best part? The views from some rooms are pretty spectacular, especially considering you’re up on the 11th floor looking out over the bustling streets below.

There’s no restaurant on-site, but honestly, with the incredible food scene right outside your door, you won’t miss it.

  The rooms are big and have individual design. The staff was great and forthcoming. With metro and bus connections not far away there are also multiple food options in the area which makes the location great.
