在家行旅 中山館 Overview
First Impressions
Walking into 在家行旅 中山館, you immediately get that “home away from home” feeling the name promises — and honestly, it delivers on that vibe better than most places I’ve stayed in Taipei. This three-star boutique hotel sits tucked away in a quiet alley off Zhongshan North Road, which means you’re getting all the benefits of being in one of the city’s hottest neighborhoods without the street noise that usually comes with it. The lobby has this clean, minimalist aesthetic that feels distinctly Taiwanese — not trying too hard to be fancy, just genuinely welcoming.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re literally a five-minute walk from Zhongshan MRT station, but more importantly, you’re in the heart of what locals consider the creative district. I mean, step outside and you’ll find yourself surrounded by independent coffee shops, vintage boutiques, and some of the best street food vendors in the city. The couples who stay here clearly know something — they’ve rated the location 9.2, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. It’s that sweet spot where you can easily hop on the metro to hit the major tourist sites, but you’re also discovering the Taipei that most visitors never see.
The Room
The room design is where this place really shows its personality — think Japanese minimalism meets Taiwanese warmth. Everything feels thoughtfully chosen rather than just ordered from a hotel supply catalog. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s actually enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details — proper reading lights, enough outlets for all your devices, and blackout curtains that actually work. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with rainfall showers that have decent water pressure.
Local Insights
Here’s something you won’t find in most hotel descriptions — the staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and will point you toward places that aren’t in guidebooks. They told me about a tiny dumpling shop around the corner that’s been family-run for three generations, and honestly, it ended up being one of my favorite meals in Taipei. The hotel sits in what’s become known as the “Zhongshan Creative Park area,” and you’re walking distance from some seriously cool galleries and design shops that most tourists completely miss because they’re busy hitting the night markets.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.1 rating, this place clearly gets something right that bigger hotels often miss — it feels authentic without sacrificing comfort. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or doormen in white gloves, but you are getting a genuinely local experience in one of Taipei’s most dynamic neighborhoods. The location score of 9.3 isn’t just about convenience (though the metro access is fantastic) — it’s about being somewhere that feels like the real Taipei. Whether you’re here for business or exploring the city, you’ll find yourself in a spot where locals actually live and work, not just a tourist bubble.
Early hotels booking in Taipei secures cherry blossom tours, private calligraphy sessions, and hot spring suites in Beitou.

Affordable and Conveniently Located Hotel in Taipei – Jenny from Australia (10/10)
I stayed at this hotel in mid-June. Despite the contactless check-in process, the staff were very responsive on WhatsApp, even though I booked just one day in advance.
The location is extremely convenient, with an MTR station only a 10-minute walk away. Situated in a lively neighbourhood, you'll find street food, markets, and convenience stores in every direction. Despite this bustling environment, there's a peaceful park right in front of the entrance.
As others have mentioned, this hotel offers great value for money. They provide unlimited free water, juice, lemon tea, and snacks, making it very convenient to come back to after a day out.
While there is construction nearby that can be disturbing, we had researched this beforehand and set our expectations accordingly. Since we were out for most of the day, it didn't bother us much.
The room was very comfortable, with air conditioning and a dehumidifier making our stay pleasant.
Wifi is fast and reliable.Good Location – Ellen from Singapore (8/10)
The "staff" via whatsapp were very clear and provided required information. The location was great and super convenient to hop on busses, subway, etc. The video on youtube provided by the hotel was very clear as to how to reach the location.
