I mean, you can get to Taipei Main Station in about 15 minutes, but your hotel costs are way lower than staying in Zhongshan or Da’an. Plus, there’s this authentic neighborhood feel around Longmen Road that you just don’t get in the tourist zones. The area comes alive in the evenings with local eateries and night market stalls.

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — they’ve really maximized the space without making it feel cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a mid-range hotel, and the air conditioning worked perfectly (crucial during Taipei’s humid summers). What struck me most was how quiet everything was, especially considering you’re in a pretty busy district. The bathroom was modern and clean, though the shower pressure could’ve been stronger. There’s decent storage space, which matters when you’re staying more than a night or two.

Practical Perks

The parking situation here is actually a huge plus if you’re renting a car — finding hotel parking in Taipei can be a nightmare and expensive. They’ve got their own spots, which saves you both money and stress. The Wi-Fi throughout the building is solid and fast, perfect for staying connected or getting work done. Breakfast isn’t included, but there are so many local options within walking distance that I honestly preferred exploring the neighborhood food scene anyway.

  Although the hotel's location was far from the main attractions, it was conveniently near the MRT (a 5-10 minute walk) and had a 7-11, grocery store, Yoshinoya, and Family Mart across the street. Additionally, McDonald's, Moss Burger, and KFC were within walking distance if you are willing to walk a bit further.
  
  Depending on the room you get, it can be quite spacious for two people, with the toilet and shower being separate, which is convenient, especially when you need to catch a tour. The hotel is accessible via the MRT, but you need to decide whether to spend less on the hotel and travel longer to tourist spots or pay more for a pricier hotel with shorter travel times.
  
  Travel fares were generally inexpensive. Most trips to tourist attractions in the Ximending area cost around 20-25 NTD. The only exceptions were trips to Beitou or Taipei Zoo, which cost about 60 NTD per person.

  – There are several closets, tables and chairs so you can also sit somewhere during the day and store away clothes.

  – There are several convenience stores (Family Mart, 7/11) really close by and a great breakfast cafe just across the street with really friendly staff (it's the street with the 7/11 on the corner).
